The Popular Show Campaign 4 Reveals the Soldiers Table

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot including angels, demons, and dark forces growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Introduced

The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of characters who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

Dividing the Cast

Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.

This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.

Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.

Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.

The antagonist then settled his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd close behind.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each member has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:

  • The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
  • The adventurer has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their status as important members in the influential clan could enable the team access areas they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and The healer turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by the family.

This leaves them little choice but to head to Timmony in quest for Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Seekers and Schemers groups.

Viewers can anticipate learning which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
